From first phone call to final installation — a realistic, step-by-step timeline for a custom countertop project.
One of the most common questions we get at the very first consultation is simply: how long is this going to take? The honest answer is "it depends," but it depends on specific, predictable things — here's the real breakdown.
This is where we talk through your project, budget, and timeline, and start narrowing down materials. If you already know roughly what you want, this can move quickly; if you're starting from scratch, we'd rather take the time to get it right than rush you into a decision.
This is genuinely the step most within your control. Seeing actual slabs in person, rather than photos online, makes this decision faster and more confident — we strongly encourage a showroom visit here. Once you've chosen your material, edge profile, finish, and thickness, this step is done.
A fabricator visits your home and uses laser-precision digital templating to capture every wall, corner, and cutout location exactly. This typically takes an hour or two on-site and doesn't require your kitchen to be out of commission.
This is where your template becomes your actual countertop — precision cutting, edge profiling, and finishing happen at a fabrication facility. This is usually the biggest single chunk of time in the whole process, and it's also the least visible to you.
Delivery, placement, and final sealing are typically completed in a single day by an experienced install team, followed by a walk-through to review the finished project and hand off a care guide.
Most straightforward projects run about 1–2 weeks from digital templating to finished installation, plus whatever time you take on material selection beforehand. Larger, more complex projects (full kitchens with multiple materials, waterfall edges, or custom fabrication work) can run longer. We'll always give you a specific estimate once we understand your actual project.
